KRISTEN AMON

IB Physics SL 1 & 2

Ms. Amon has been teaching at Stamford High School since 1999. Ms. Amon has a BS in Applied Math from Columbia University, an MS in Education from the University of Bridgeport, and a 6th Year in Secondary Science from Southern Connecticut State University.

BETH GILLIN

Extended Essay Coordinator 

Theory of Knowledge & Research Foundations Teacher 

Mrs. Beth Gillin is a proud graduate of Stamford High School and a member of the faculty for over 20 years. She is currently the English Department Head. Mrs. Gillin attended UConn where she received a BA in English, Sacred Heart University where she received an MA in Teaching Secondary English and the University of Bridgeport where she received a 6th Year degree in Administration.

MATTHEW GLADSTONE

IB Spanish Ab Initio SL 1

Mr. Gladstone is a graduate of Stamford High School and has taught Spanish there since August 2005. Prior to coming to Stamford High, Mr. Gladstone was a Bilingual Special Education teacher for the New York Department of Education's District 75. Mr. Gladstone holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Connecticut, a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Adelphi University, a Master of Science in Bilingual Education from Adelphi University and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from University of Bridgeport. Aside from teaching Spanish at Stamford High, Mr. Gladstone coached Tennis for 11 years and has chaperoned 5 student trips to Cádiz, Spain in partnership with the Centro Mundolengua Language School.

MONA HANNA

IB Math Applications and Interpretations SL

Mona Hanna has been the Mathematics Department Head at Stamford High School since August 2013 . Prior to coming to Stamford High, Ms. Hanna worked as Program Director for Science, Director of Math and Science and subsequently as the Chief Academic Officer in the Stamford Public Schools. Ms. Hanna previously taught Chemistry at Westhill High School, eventually becoming Science Department Head.  She is currently on the faculty of The University of Connecticut and Housatonic Community College serving as Adjunct Lecturer in Chemistry. Ms. Hanna holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Fairfield University, a Master of Science in Chemistry from Southern CT State University, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Sacred Heart University.  In addition, she has completed advanced course work in Administration and Supervision at Southern CT State University.

ELLA KRAIZ

IB Chemistry SL/HL 1

Mrs. Kraiz has been teaching at Stamford High School since 2009. She lives in Stamford and is the proud mom of two boys. Mrs. Kraiz has a BS in Chemistry from St. John's University and a MA in Secondary Education from Fairfield University.

LAURA MARTIN

IB History HL 2

IB CAS Coordinator 

Ms. Martin is a graduate of Stamford High School and is excited to be back. She earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut in history and her Master's degree in Secondary Education at the University of Bridgeport.

TIM MARTIN

IB Environmental Science SL 1 & 2

Dr. Martin has been teaching at Stamford High School since 2018.  Prior to that, he worked for Bridgeport Public Schools where he served as both a teacher and an administrator.  Dr. Martin has a Bachelor  of Science Degree in Biology from University of North Dakota, a Master of Science Degree in Education from University of Bridgeport, and a Doctorate of Education Degree from Southern CT State University.  He is currently pursuing a Master of Science Degree in Biology from Western CT State University and is a graduate of the University of Montana Master Beekeepers Program.  Prior to becoming a teacher, Dr. Martin served as a Captain in the US Army and worked for Pfizer and Boston Scientific in pharmaceutical sales and surgical sales training.  He currently teaches science, coaches boy’s basketball, and sponsors the beekeeping club at Stamford High School.  Dr. Martin and his family have lived in Stamford since 2000 and his children are all proud graduates of Stamford Public Schools.

ISAAC ODOOM

IB Math Analysis and Approaches HL 1 & 2

Mr. Odoom has been teaching Mathematics at Stamford High School since 2004. Prior to that, he taught Mathematics in The Gambia (West Africa) for over 17 years. Mr. Odoom holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geodetic Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana and a Master of Science Degree in Education – Secondary Mathematics from University of Bridgeport. His desire and commitment to make a difference in children’s lives is what has motivated him to continue to do what he loves most, to teach.

LISA RICH

Senora Rich has taught Spanish at Stamford High for 29 years and is eager to share her passion and help make all the IB students global minded and bilingual!  She received her Bachelor's Degree at Boston College and Master Degrees at Middlebury College and Sacred Heart University.

IB Chemistry SL/HL 2

Ms. Runge has been teaching at Stamford High since 2011. She lives in Stamford and has a BA in Chemistry from Barnard College and a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Arizona.

TIFFANY RUSSO

Creativity, Activity, Service Coordinator (C.A.S.)

Ms. Russo has been a school counselor for the past 11 years.  When starting at Stamford High School in 2011, she was the college and career center coordinating counselor for the first four years.  Through her time at SHS, she has worked with many programs supporting post-secondary opportunities with our students like Upward Bound, ECMC, and AVID.  She has become involved with IB in the past year and is excited for all the opportunities it presents our students in preparation for college and life.  Ms. Russo received her Bachelor of Arts from Siena College, a Master of Science in Education and a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Counseling from SUNY Plattsburgh.  She later earned an Educational Leadership Certificate from the University of Bridgeport.

KIMBERLY WHEELER

IB Visual Arts SL/HL 1 & 2

Ms. Wheeler chas been a faculty member at Stamford High School for over 20 years; teaching everything from Pottery and Ceramics to Jewelry Making. Ms. Wheeler holds a Bachelors of Science from Southern Connecticut State University in Art Education, and a Masters of Science in Secondary Art Education from SCSU as well.

JEREMY WHITE

IB Theory of Knowledge 

Mr. White has been a teacher at Stamford High School for over 20 years. In addition to IB, Mr. White teaches AP Microeconomics and Honors Philosophy. Mr. White attended the University of Mary Washington where he received a BA in American Studies and Sacred Heart University where he received a Masters in Education. In addition to teaching, Mr. White has coached the SHS Debate Team for the past 18 years. He is also currently an assistant coach for girls basketball here at SHS and the defensive coordinator for the Greenwich High School boys' lacrosse team.

KATHERINE WINGERTZAHN

IB Language and Literature HL 1

Ms. Wingertzahn attended the University of Maine where she received her Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with both a concentration and minor in English. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree in English at Mercy College. She is excited to share her love for literature with her students!
